The Chordial
Gentlemen have been singing together
for 2 years in October. Our barbershop singing
experience extends from our bass, Ken,
with 22+ years singing barbershop to our
bari, Jacob, with 2 years of barbershop
singing.
Jay and Jim
have sung in a quartet together before.
So when it came time to start quarteting
again, the tenor and lead were already half-way there.
We found a bass quickly
enough, but finding the right baritone
took a while. Thankfully Jacob decided to
make the jump from bass to bari and
joined the quartet.
Jay
Pryor, our tenor, is self employed
and keeps quite busy with his electrical
contracting business. He is a busy father
of Michelle, husband to Sharon and very
active in his church, puppet ministry and
church choir.
Jim
Browne is very active with work,
family, Barbershop and the SCA - a Historical
Recreation group. Jim is an assistant
director of Pacific Sound and the
Director of the Santa Barbara "Flying
Dolphin" Barbershop Chorus. His wife Pat
is a Registered Nurse who works at
Blue Cross of Calif. She an excellent seamstress
and costumer as well as an avid gardener. (Go to her Web site)
Their daughter Janet attends middle
school in Camarillo and plays first chair trumpet in
the Advanced Band
Jacob
Sizemore, our youngest member - both
in years and in barbershop experience -
adds his excellent skills and quest for
knowledge to the mix that is The Chordial
Gentlemen. Jacob is a doctoral candidate
in chemical engineering at UCSB and has
approached the new challenge of singing
baritone with his usual gusto and
insight. He recently celebrated his marriage.
Ken Day
is our bass and the senior member of our
quartet. As the senior member the rest of
the quartet always defers to his
long time barbershop experience. Ken has
been working at Vons grocery stores for
the last 45+ years. Ken is happily
married to Donna.
